Calvin Ridley injury update: Falcons rookie WR expected to play against Giants

Calvin Ridley injury update: Falcons rookie wide receiver reportedly will have MRI on ankle

Calvin Ridley is expected to play in Week 7.

The 23-year-old rookie wide receiver suffered a bone bruise in his left ankle and exited the game in the second quarter of the Falcons’ 34-29 Week 6 win over the Buccaneers. Ridley, however, won’t miss any time as he will be on the field when Atlanta faces the Giants, coach Dan Quinn announced Saturday.

“My ankle early in the week, it was just really, really, really sore,” Ridley said (via ESPN). “I really treated it all day to make sure it was healthy. I feel like my normal self.”

The Falcons selected Ridley out of Alabama with the 26th pick in the 2018 draft. He has tallied 22 catches for 349 yards and six touchdowns in six games this season.

Ridley’s six receiving scores are tied with five other players for the most in the NFL in 2018.

Falcons wide receiver Mohamed Sanu, who has been dealing with a hip bruise, also will play against the Giants on Monday.
