Derek Barnett is bound for injured reserve.
The Eagles’ second-year defensive end is scheduled to undergo surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff and he is expected to miss the remainder of the season, ESPN reported, citing an unidentified source.
Barnett missed the team’s Week 5 loss to the Vikings with a shoulder ailment after initially suffering the injury in Philadelphia’s Week 4 win over the Titans, though he has been active the last two weeks.
Barnett, 22, was selected by the Eagles with the No. 14 overall pick in the 2017 draft. He has compiled 17 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks in six starts this season.
The injury is the latest blow to Philadelphia’s already depleted roster that has endured numerous injuries since the team’s historic Super Bowl run last season.
The Eagles (3-4) are slated to visit the Jaguars in London at 9:30 a.m. ET Sunday.
