Adrian Peterson passes John Riggins for sixth in career rushing touchdowns

Redskins injury updates: Adrian Peterson expected to play against Panthers; Jamison Crowder, Chris Thompson will be out

Adrian Peterson has added another milestone to his list of accomplishments.

The Redskins running back on Sunday reached 105 rushing touchdowns in his 11-year career, surpassing Redskins legend John Riggins for the sixth most in NFL history.

Peterson needs just one more rushing score to tie Browns great Jim Brown, who has 106.

Peterson tied Riggins’ mark in the second quarter before breaking his record later in the fourth quarter. The 33-year-old running back now has 723 rushing yards and six touchdowns this season.

However, his day was spoiled by a 23-21 defeat at the hands of the Texans.
