Darren Sproles could make a significant step in returning to the field if his training session on Thursday goes well.
During his weekly press conference, Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Sproles will participate in some of the team’s practice Thursday.
“He so wants to be on the field so bad that (it will) be exciting to get him out there (Thursday), just in a limited capacity,” Pederson said. “Regardless of what happens after this season, he’s such a competitor and a leader of this football team, and he wants to be out there.”
Sproles first injured his hamstring in Week 1’s win over the Falcons. He was set to return in the middle of the season but aggravated the injury again in practice before Week 10’s game against the Cowboys.
The likelihood of Sproles being ready for Monday’s game against the Redskins is slim, but it’s a step in the right direction.
