Deion Jones is back with the Falcons.
The linebacker was activated to the 53-man roster after being on injured reserved since September, the Falcons announced Tuesday.
Even though Jones is back on the roster, that doesn’t mean he will play this week against the Cowboys, according to coach Dan Quinn.
“We’ll stay in the same format as we had last week, and as we go through the week, we’ll take it step by step to see where he’s at,” Quinn said. “Too early to make a prediction and where he could be. I know he’s eligible to be back this week. That doesn’t mean he’s ready to. So we’ll put him out there when he’s 100 percent ready.”
Jones broke his foot in Week 1 against the Eagles. His injury, combined with safeties Keanu Neal and Ricardo Allen being out for the year, left the Falcons’ defense depleted.
In a corresponding move, the Falcons waived offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo.
