Hue Jackson joins Bengals’ staff as 'special assistant'

Former Browns coach Hue Jackson will join Bengals’ staff, report says

Hue Jackson appears headed to Cincinnati.

The former Browns coach met with the Bengals and will join Marvin Lewis’ staff with the title “special assistant to the head coach.”

Jackson was fired by Cleveland in late October after the team opened the season with a 2-5-1 record. He finished with a 3-36-1 record during his two-plus seasons as Cleveland’s head coach.

Jackson has already had two separate stints as a Bengals’ assistant. He served as the team’s wide receivers coach from 2004-06 and then returned to Cincinnati from 2012-15.

The Bengals have registered a 5-4 record in 2018. They fired defensive coordinator Teryl Austin on Monday.
