Both of the Jets quarterbacks were limited at practice for the second consecutive day, and questions remain about who will get the starting nod Sunday in Tennessee.
Sam Darnold and Josh McCown have been battling injuries the past couple of weeks, most notably Darnold missed the past two games with a right-foot strain. The rookie has shown progress this week by participating in team drills Wednesday for the first time since sustaining the injury Nov. 4 against the Dolphins.
McCown, 39, has been nursing a sore hand and back. He suffered a cut on his right hand during Sunday’s 27-13 loss to the Patriots.
Head coach Todd Bowles has yet to announce the Week 13 starter.
“We’ll see who’s the healthiest,” Bowles said, via Newsday. “We’ll make the decision as the week goes.”
The quarterback uncertainty and five-game losing streak doesn’t seem to have Bowles too concerned.
“We’re good,” he said.
Davis Webb, who is the team’s No. 3 quarterback, is the healthiest right now. But according to Newsday, he is emergency option for the game.
