Marcus Mariota injury update: Titans QB expected to start Monday against Texans

Three takeaways from the Titans' win over the Cowboys

Marcus Mariota appears ready to start against the Texans Monday, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel told reporters Friday.

Mariota was a full participant in practice Friday for the first time all week. He left Sunday’s loss to the Colts in the first half with a stinger — or pinched nerve in his neck — that led to numbness in his throwing arm.

“He felt better,” Vrabel said via the team website. “… It looked good today, but that’s why you practice. You try to always improve and get better. I would imagine that Marcus is going to be the starting quarterback after being not limited, and full, and probably hope to start.”

The Titans (5-5) could certainly use a healthy Mariota in the key game against their AFC South rival Houston (7-3). The fourth-year QB has 1,583 passing yards, seven touchdowns and six interceptions this season.
