Markieff Morris blasts drama surrounding Wizards: ‘It’s messed up’

The Wizards erased a 24-point deficit and rallied for a win over the Clippers on Tuesday. But, Markieff Morris was still not happy.

Washington has started the season with an unexpectedly poor 6-11 record and several of its players were recently involved in verbal altercations during a “volatile practice,” according to multiple reports.

Morris was asked after the game if the win over Los Angeles helped to erase some of the recent negativity surrounding the team.

“It’s f—ed up what’s going on,” Morris said (via The Athletic). “So, I wouldn’t say that it makes it nicer. We’ve just got to figure it out”

“The comments that’s coming from the locker room is f—ed up. It don’t happen in other sports. So, it’s messed up.”

Morris came off the bench and scored 12 points in 21 minutes against Los Angeles. He has averaged 9.7 points and 4.3 rebounds this season.

Wizards star John Wall was reportedly fined for yelling an expletive at coach Scott Brooks during the heated practice, while guard Bradley Beal became frustrated and told the team’s management he had been “dealing with this for seven years.”

The Wizards will return to the court when they face the Raptors on Friday.
