Mavericks center DeAndre Jordan has ‘rubbed teammates the wrong way,’ report says

Some Mavericks players are apparently not happy with DeAndre Jordan.

The 30-year-old center has “rubbed teammates the wrong way,” according to a report from ESPN. They believe Jordan plays “selfish” basketball, the report says, most notably when he stole an uncontested rebound from rookie Luka Doncic during a game against the Knicks earlier this month.

Jordan defended the move at the time.

“I guess I’ve been poaching for the past 11 years,” Jordan told the Dallas Morning News. “I feel like every rebound that comes off is mine. So, I am guilty of that. But honestly, when I’m going for the ball, I don’t really look for anybody else.”

Jordan left the Clippers and signed a one-year, $24 million deal with the Mavericks in the offseason. He has averaged 11.2 points and 13.7 rebounds in his first 13 games with Dallas.

The Mavericks are set to face the Jazz on Wednesday. They’ll enter that game with a 5-8 record.
