NBA trade rumors: 76ers have ‘stopped listening’ to offers for guard T.J. McConnell

T.J. McConnell appears to be remaining with the 76ers for the rest of the season.

Philadelphia has “stopped listening” to offers for the 26-year-old guard, according to a report from ESPN, which cites unidentified league sources. The team believes it will have to rely more heavily on McConnell because of the uncertainty surrounding Markelle Fultz.

The Suns reportedly offered a second-round pick for McConnell in mid-October, but the 76ers rejected the deal. He can become a free agent after 2018-19.

McConnell has averaged 3.9 points and 2.4 assists in 16 games for Philadelphia this season. He is a strong perimeter defender and a career 32.9-percent shooter from 3-point range.

Fultz stepped away from Philadelphia last week in order to deal with a shoulder injury and the team reportedly no longer saw him in its long-term plans. The 76ers, however, still believe Fultz will return and play a role off their bench, according to ESPN’s report.

The 76ers will host the Knicks on Wednesday. They’ll enter that game with a 14-8 record.
