Pelicans' Anthony Davis to play against Warriors after missing 2 games with elbow injury, report says

Pelicans forward Anthony Davis is expected to play against the Warriors on Wednesday after missing two games with an elbow injury, according to a report from Yahoo Sports, which cites unidentified league sources.

The 25-year-old said his injury “feels better” and explained he suffered an elbow sprain Friday against the Nets after dunking on center Jarrett Allen. He added (per “We’ll see when I go through my pregame shooting, to see how it feels.”

Though Davis says his injury is getting better, coach Alvin Gentry wasn’t willing to give a definitive answer about whether Davis will play. Gentry indicated Davis would likely be a game-time decision.

“We’ll find out when he warms up tonight,” Gentry said Wednesday during the team’s shootaround. “We feel pretty good about it, but we’ll have to wait and see before we are definitive about whether he’s going to play or not.”

Davis is averaging 27.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game this season.
