Baker Mayfield appears to stare down Hue Jackson during Browns win over Bengals

Browns QB Baker Mayfield criticizes former coach Hue Jackson after win over Bengals

Baker Mayfield has the Browns fired up. Although Cleveland is officially out of playoff contention, the franchise is much improved.

Mayfield, the Browns rookie quarterback, appeared to stare down the Bengals’ sideline near the end of Cleveland’s 26-18 victory over the Bengals on Sunday. Many suspect that his gaze was directed at Hue Jackson, who served as the Browns’ head coach before being fired earlier this season.

Jackson is now a special assistant for Cincinnati and Mayfield has been vocal about his disapproval of Jackson’s move to a divisional rival.

But, Mayfield was not interested in discussing the move when he met with reporters after the game.

“No idea what you’re talking about,” Mayfield said to ESPN when asked about his actions.

The Browns completed a regular-season sweep of the Bengals on Sunday and have won four of their last five games. Mayfield completed 27-of-37 passes for three touchdowns against Cincinnati in Cleveland’s victory.

The Browns will conclude the regular season against the Ravens in Baltimore next Sunday.
