Florida OT Jawaan Taylor declares for NFL draft

Jawaan Taylor has decided to forgo his senior year at Florida to enter the NFL draft.

The junior offensive tackle made the announcement Saturday after the Gators routed Michigan 41-15 in the Peach Bowl.

“I want to thank Gator nation for being the most loyal and supportive fans in the country! My journey as a Florida Gator has prepared me to take that next step,” Taylor wrote on Twitter. “I therefore announce that I will forgo my senior season and declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.”

Taylor played in every game this season and last season for the Gators. He is projected to go in the first round of the draft due to his ability to flip from left to right tackle with ease.

Taylor joins Chauncey Gardner-Johnson in his decision to leave Florida and declare for the draft. Fellow Gators, such as Jachai Polite and Jordan Scarlett, have yet to make their decision.
