Greg Olsen injury update: Panthers TE (foot) expects 'full recovery' after surgery

Greg Olsen injury update: Panthers TE (foot) heading to IR, report says

Greg Olsen expects to be fully healthy by next season.

The Panthers tight end underwent surgery on his ailing foot last week, NFL Media reported Monday. Olsen later confirmed the surgery in an Instagram post and said he’s on his way to a “full recovery.”

Olsen was placed on injured reserve earlier this month after he ruptured his right plantar fascia during the team’s Week 13 loss to the Buccaneers. It’s the second straight year he has landed on IR, as he suffered a fractured right foot last season.

He finished this season with 27 catches for 291 yards and four touchdowns.

Don’t be surprised if Olsen, who will turn 34 this offseason, contemplates retirement entering the 2019-2020 campaign given his injury history.
