NBA wrap: Stephen Curry hits game-winner to lift Warriors over Clippers

The matchup between the Warriors and Clippers was close down to the final second Sunday.

Los Angeles beat Golden State the first time the two teams met this season, but Stephen Curry’s clutch performance brought about a favorable outcome for the home team this time around.

Curry was on fire Sunday. The two-time MVP poured in 42 points on 12-of-22 shooting in the Warriors’ 129-127 victory. The score was knotted at 127 down the stretch, but Curry took advantage of a mismatch and attacked off the dribble to score the game-winning layup with less than a second left on the clock.

Kevin Durant also had a strong game, scoring 35 points and snagging 12 rebounds in the win.

Tobias Harris posted 32 points and nine rebounds for the Clippers. Danilo Gallinari and Lou Williams each contributed 25 points.

The Warriors improved to 23-11 while the Clippers dropped to 19-14. 

Studs of the Night

Lauri Markkanen scored 31 points on 11-of-18 shooting in the Bulls’ 112-92 win against the Cavaliers.

Damian Lillard dropped 33 points and was a perfect 9-of-9 from the free-throw line in the Trail Blazers’ 121-118 overtime victory over the Mavericks.

Jaren Jackson Jr. recorded 27 points and nine rebounds as the Grizzlies defeated the Lakers 107-99.

Duds of the Night

Marvin Williams scored four points on 1-of-9 shooting in the Hornets’ 119-103 loss to the Celtics.

TJ Warren had four points on 2-of-11 in the Suns’ 111-103 loss to the Nets.
