Does DeSean Jackson want out of Tampa Bay?
According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the Buccaneers wide receiver wants to “move on” from the franchise starting next season.
‘Cup of Jo’ on #NFL Live: I’m told that #Bucs WR Desean Jackson has expressed a preference to move on from Tampa Bay after this season & that change may be good to contribute in a new environment. Jackson reportedly had a spat with coach Dirk Koetter over his “lack of effort” following a hand injury Jackson sustained.
Jackson also doesn’t think quarterback Jameis Winston deserves to be the starter over Ryan Fitzpatrick and feels that he doesn’t have good chemistry with Winston, according to the report.
At the time of Koetter’s press conference Thursday afternoon, he said he hadn’t heard of the report and wasn’t going to comment on it.
DeSean Jackson (has proven to) be an outstanding player in this league,” Koetter said. “I’m a coach, he’s a player — I think our relationship is fine. That’s all there really is to say about it.”
An 11-year veteran, Jackson Jackson currently has 774 yards and four touchdowns on 41 receptions in 2018 heading into the final week of the regular season.
The Bucs (5-10) will close out the season against the Falcons (6-9) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
