76ers' Joel Embiid trolls Timberwolves after 42-point defeat

Joel Embiid took a jab at the Timberwolves after the 76ers pulled off a 149-107 victory over Minnesota on Tuesday.

The matchup marked Jimmy Butler’s first game against the Timberwolves since he was traded to Philadelphia in mid-November, and Embiid didn’t miss an opportunity to troll his opponents after the blowout.

He wrote on Instagram, “It was an honor to be a part of the 3rd stringers and get a win against real NBA starter #TheProcess,” which was a reference to Butler’s infamous practice in October where he reportedly demanded to scrimmage with the bench players against the Minnesota starters.

The practice reportedly led to several confrontations between Butler and then-coach Tom Thibodeau, and the Sixers traded Butler to Minnesota three weeks later.

Butler also shared a message after the victory, though his message was a little more discreet. He wrote, “looking right through the past.. to the future!”
