Bears lose to Eagles after K Cody Parkey clangs game-winning field goal attempt off upright and crossbar

Bears K Cody Parkey gets extra practice at Soldier Field after struggling in Week 10

One field goal stood between the Bears and the next round of the playoffs.

Chicago kicker Cody Parkey lined up and sank his first attempt at a game-winner from 43-yards away with 10 seconds to play and his team trailing by a point, but the Eagles called a timeout in an attempt to ice him just before the snap.

On his second try, the fifth-year kicker hit both the left upright and the crossbar, causing Chicago to lose 16-15.

Parkey missed seven field-goal attempts and three point-after tries during the regular season. He also hit the uprights four times in one game against the Lions on Nov. 11.

Parkey began his career kicking for Philadelphia from 2014-15 and went on to play for the Browns and Dolphins, as well.

The Eagles will face the top-seeded Saints on Jan. 13 at 4:40 p.m. ET in New Orleans in the second round.
