Capitals give up fourth hat trick in 5 games

The Capitals are giving up goals in bunches right now.

With Maple Leafs center Nazem Kadri’s hat trick in Wednesday’s 6-3 win over the Capitals, Washington has now allowed four hat tricks in its last five games.

The Caps have given up a hat trick in three straight. Sharks forward Tomas Hertl put in three on Tuesday and Blackhawks forward Jonathan Toews scored three times Sunday.

Predators winger Viktor Arvidsson also tallied three goals in Nashville’s 7-2 win over the Capitals last Tuesday.

With Wednesday’s loss to the Maple Leafs, the Capitals have dropped seven games in a row.

The Capitals have given up 34 goals on their current losing streak.
