Celtics' Kyrie Irving on technical: If someone questions your manhood, you got no choice

Don’t question Kyrie Irving’s manhood.

Shelvin Mack learned that in the Celtics’ 122-116 win over the Grizzlies on Friday.

In the third quarter, Mack said something to Irving on an inbounds play the five-time All-Star didn’t like. Kyrie then confronted Mack and the two had to be separated.

Each player was handed a technical foul and the game continued.

Irving discussed the incident after the game.

“He said something pretty disrespectful. So I told him to do something about it. He didn’t,” Irving told reporters. “I don’t usually get techs like that. But if someone questions your manhood, at that point, you got no choice.”

Irving went on to lead the Celtics to a win while dropping 38 points and 11 assists.

He has already moved on from the interaction.

“Sometimes it’s going to be like that,” Irving said. “They’ll do anything to get you out of your game, but I’ve grown up in so many different environments, and I’m pretty sure he has as well, so just keep it on the floor, you know, things happen like that and you move on from it, keep playing.”
