Hunter Henry injury update: Chargers TE not activated to play vs. Ravens

Hunter Henry injury update: Chargers TE will not play vs. Ravens in wild-card round, report says

Hunter Henry won’t be playing for the Chargers in the wild-card round on Sunday.

The third-year tight end suffered an ACL tear in May and has missed all of the 2018-19 season. Los Angeles was hopeful he could make his debut against Baltimore, but failed to activate Henry by Saturday’s deadline.

However, Chargers coach Anthony Lynn told ESPN’s Josina Anderson that Henry is close to being able to return but the team opted to excercise caution with the injury this weekend.

Henry was a consensus All-American at Arkansas in 2015-16 and declared for the NFL Draft after the season concluded. He recorded 45 receptions for 579 yards and four touchdowns last season and scored eight in his rookie year.

Antonio Gates will likely continue to receive the bulk of the tight end targets for the Chargers.

Los Angeles will take on Baltimore at 1:05 p.m. ET at M&T Bank Stadium.
