Jets S Jamal Adams wants team to acquire Antonio Brown, Le'Veon Bell

Jamal Adams wants the Jets to make major upgrades.

The 23-year-old safety said he hopes the team looks to acquire disgruntled wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell this offseason. Adams was then asked to give his recruiting pitch to the pair during an appearance Wednesday on NFL Network.

“I want everybody to come,” Adams said. “I want you guys to come be a part of something special. A lot of energy, a lot of new energy. The sky is the limit. If you guys come join us, there will be nothing like bringing a Super Bowl back to the Jets organization. … If you do that, you’ll forever be a legend.”

Brown has spent his entire nine-year career in Pittsburgh. But he has reportedly been unhappy with the Steelers and president Art Rooney II said earlier this month it was “hard to envision” him being with the team next season.

The seven-time Pro Bowl player tallied 1,297 receiving yards and 15 scores with the Steelers in 2018.

Meanwhile, Bell missed all of 2018 after holding out over a contract dispute. He has made three Pro Bowls during his five-year career.

Adams told reporters he had lunch with Bell’s agent during the Pro Bowl last weekend. He also said adding Bell and Brown would make the Jets’ offense “dangerous.”

The Jets finished last season with a 4-12 record. They haven’t made the playoffs since 2010.

New York enters the 2019 season with the second most cap space in the NFL, according to Spotrac.
