Tom Brady wanted to meet with Patrick Mahomes after the Patriots’ 37-31 overtime win over the Chiefs in the AFC championship game.
The 41-year-old New England veteran quarterback approached the Kansas City locker room following the game Sunday and asked a security guard if he could visit with Mahomes, according to a report from ESPN. The pair went into a private room and spoke briefly, the report says.
Tom Brady just quietly approached a security guard waiting outside the Chiefs’ locker room — and asked if he could see Patrick Mahomes. Brady was escorted into a room where he spoke briefly with him. A very clear display of respect from one incredible quarterback to another.

Mahomes completed 16 of his 31 passes for 295 yards and three scores in the loss to New England. He tallied a 50/12 touchdown-to-interception ratio during his first season as the Chiefs’ starter.
Brady has won five Super Bowls and three MVPs over his 19-year career. He led a 13-play, 75-yard touchdown drive during the first possession of overtime to help New England come away with the victory over Kansas City.
The Patriots will face the Rams in Super Bowl 53 on Sunday, Feb. 3 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
