NHL All-Star Game 2019: Lightning's Andrei Vasilevskiy replaces Canadiens' Carey Price

Missing a month of the season with a foot injury ultimately didn’t cost Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy an All-Star nod.

The NHL announced Tuesday that Vasilevskiy will replace Canadiens goalie Carey Price on the Atlantic Division roster for the 2019 All-Star Game in San Jose, Calif.

This will be Vasilevskiy’s second All-Star appearance. He was named to the roster in 2018 as well.

Price is coming off a back injury, so he and the Canadiens decided he would skip the game in order to recuperate for the second half of the season. He will serve a one-game suspension for missing the event.

Vasilevskiy has a 16-4-2 record with a 2.66 goals against average and .920 save percentage on the year.

The Lightning have the best record in the NHL at 38-8-2.
