Saints surprise Drew Brees with birthday bash after divisional round win

2018 NFL playoff scenarios for Week 16: Saints, Chiefs seeking home-field advantage

Drew Brees started his milestone birthday celebrations early — and in a big way.

Following Sunday’s 20-14 win over the Eagles in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs, the Saints surprised their veteran quarterback with a 40th birthday bash at Port Orleans Brewery in New Orleans.

The party was attended by a number of Brees’ teammates, coach Sean Payton and several celebrities, including Keegan-Michael Key and local rapper Choppa.

Happy Birthday Drew, Choppa style! ⚜️🐐🎉

Actress and television host Ellen DeGeneres, a New Orleans area native and Saints super fan, also recorded a special message for Brees that was played at the party.

“You are kind, you are generous, you are such a great guy on and off the field,” DeGeneres said in the message. “I’m very grateful to call you my friend. I’m sending you all my love — happy birthday! I’ll see you after the Super Bowl, go Saints!”
