Stars to host 2020 Winter Classic at Cotton Bowl; St. Louis gets 2020 All-Star game

The 2020 Winter Classic will be in Dallas.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman officially announced Tuesday during the 2019 Winter Classic that the Cotton Bowl will host next year’s event.

The location is the furthest south the Winter Classic has taken place.

It’s unclear who the Stars will face. It marks the first time the Stars has hosted the event, which began in 2008.

The 2019 Winter Classic will be held in Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind. It will be hosted by the Blackhawks, who will play the Bruins on New Year’s Day.

The NHL also announced on Tuesday the 2020 NHL Stadium Series will visit the United States Air Force Academy’s Falcon Stadium in Colorado Springs with the Avalanche playing host.

In addition, St. Louis will host the 2020 All-Star game.
