Brandin Cooks isn’t going anywhere.
During the Rams’ media availability Tuesday ahead of Super Bowl 53, coach Sean McVay promised the twice-traded wide receiver is staying with the team.
“I can’t say enough good things about Brandin Cooks. And I guarantee you this, we’re not trading him,” McVay said, via Lindsay Jones of The Athletic.
Cooks, 25, was selected by the Saints in the first round of the 2014 draft and quickly emerged as one of the top big-play wideouts in the league. He was traded from New Orleans to New England before the 2017 season because of a rumored clash with Saints QB Drew Brees.
The Patriots then dealt Cooks and a fourth-round pick to the Rams for a first- and a sixth-round pick. He went on to log 80 receptions for 1,204 yards and five scores in 2018.
Cooks will enter his second Super Bowl since being traded by the Saints and look to get his first ring by beating his former team.
The Rams and Patriots kick off at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday in Atlanta.
