Flyers F Jakub Voracek appealing 2-game suspension

Jakub Voracek has been suspended two games, the NHL announced Sunday.

The Flyers forward committed an interference penalty against the Islanders on Saturday, prompting the league’s action.

According to Sportsnet, the appeal for the suspension will be heard Tuesday. Philadelphia is slated to play Monday and Thursday against the Senators and Capitals, respectively.

Voracek, in his eighth season in Philadelphia, is the Flyers’ third-leading scorer this season with 61 points (18 goals, 43 assists).

The Flyers (33-27-8) sit at sixth in the Metropolitan Division.
