A lot of men have started in net for the Flyers this season.
How many have started you ask? Eight in total. With Cam Talbot’s start on Friday against the Devils, Philadelphia has now started more men in net this season than any team in NHL history.

Talbot joins Brian Elliott, Carter Hart, Calvin Pickard, Anthony Stolarz, Michal Neuvirth, Alex Lyon and Mike McKenna in getting starts for the Flyers this season.
Philadelphia acquired Talbot in a trade with the Oilers at the deadline. The Flyers actually sent Stolarz to Edmonton in return.
With Talbot’s win in the 6-3 victory over the Devils on Friday, six different goalies have wins for the Flyers in 2018-19.
Almost more amazingly, the Flyers have played a total of eight defensemen this season.

But this might be the biggest kicker, while the Flyers started eight men in net this season, it reminds us how solid they were from 1980 to 1985. According to Sportsnet Stats, the Flyers started a total of seven goalies in that stretch.

Despite the turnover in net, the Flyers are still in the playoff race. After Friday’s win Philadelphia moved to 31-26-8. The team is just five points back of Pittsburgh for the second wild-card spot with 17 games to play.
