NFL free agency rumors: Adrian Peterson returning to Redskins

Redskins injury updates: Adrian Peterson expected to play against Panthers; Jamison Crowder, Chris Thompson will be out

Adrian Peterson is returning to the Redskins on a two-year deal, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.

“I am going back to the Redskins. It will be a two-year deal. I feel like we made some good moves to get to where we are trying to go,” Peterson told Anderson on Wednesday.

According to NFL media, Peterson’s deal will be worth $8 million.

Peterson, 33, signed a one-year deal with the Redskins last season after rookie running back Derrius Guice went down with a torn ACL during the preseason.

With Guice likely ready to go for 2019, Peterson will be sharing the backfield with him and Chris Thompson.

Peterson ran for 1,042 yards and seven touchdowns while also catching 20 passes for 208 yards and a touchdown over 16 games.
