Running back Carlos Hyde may not be a free agent for long.
Hyde, 28, will visit the Chiefs on Saturday and he’s expected to sign, pending a physical, according to Yahoo Sports, which cited unidentified sources.
Hyde was released Friday by the Jaguars, who had acquired him in mid-October from the Browns for a fifth-round pick. Jacksonville added Hyde when star running back Leonard Fournette missed time because of a hamstring injury.
Hyde’s release allowed Jacksonville to save $4.7 million, though they initially tried to trade him, ESPN notes.
Selected by the 49ers in the second round of the 2014 draft, Hyde rushed for 189 yards in eight games with Jacksonville and has scored 29 touchdowns over his five NFL seasons.
