The Cowboys may not end up adding a safety this offseason, after all.
Dallas has “no interest” in signing Earl Thomas or Landon Collins, according to a report from The Athletic, which cites an unidentified league source. The team believes the “financial price is too steep” for either player.
The Cowboys also are not planning to pursue Eric Weddle, who was released by the Ravens earlier this week, the report says.
The Cowboys have long been linked to Thomas as they reportedly tried to acquire him from the Seahawks in September. Dallas had “in-house discussions” about acquiring him earlier this month, according to 247Sports.
Meanwhile, Collins became a free agent when the Giants declined to place the franchise tag on him. The Chiefs are reportedly expected to make signing him “a priority.”
The Cowboys finished 2018 with a 10-6 record and advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs, where they fell to the Rams.
