Teddy Bridgewater is staying in New Orleans.
According to a report from ESPN, which cited unidentified league sources, the fifth-year quarterback is expected to re-sign with the Saints.
However, it didn’t come without some drama. Bridgewater, who lives in Miami, visited the Dolphins on Wednesday. The report made some question his resolve but ESPN noted he was only going to take the job in Miami if the Dolphins offered “life-changing money.”
They didn’t, and now he will remain in New Orleans.

Bridgewater has reportedly said he “values the locker room culture and prospect of one day becoming the Saints’ starting quarterback.”
In his first full season back after suffering a gruesome knee injury in training camp in 2016, Bridgewater impressed during the preseason with the Jets. He was then traded to New Orleans ahead of the start of the regular season and eventually got in some work in Week 17 after the Saints clinched the top seed in the NFC playoffs, though he put on a lackluster performance as he finished 14 of 22 for 118 yards.
While Bridgewater’s comeback campaign could be put on hold, his learning experience under veteran Drew Brees is sure to pay off.
