The Texans have found their backup quarterback.
Houston is finalizing a deal with AJ McCarron, according to a report from NFL Network, which cites an unidentified league source.
The 28-year-old will be behind Houston star Deshaun Watson on the depth chart.

McCarron signed a two-year, $10 million contract with the Bills in March 2018. But, he never appeared in a regular season game for Buffalo and was traded to the Raiders in exchange for a fifth-round pick in September.
Oakland then released McCarron earlier this month.
McCarron, who spent the first four seasons of his career with the Bengals, has completed 64 percent of his passes and thrown for six touchdowns, along with two interceptions, in 13 NFL appearances.
