The Cowboys have finalized a long-rumored addition to their defensive front.
Dallas acquired defensive end Robert Quinn from the Dolphins and will subsequently rework his contract to faciliate the trade, the Cowboys announced Thursday.
Miami will receive a sixth-round pick in return.
Quinn is entering the final year of a four-year, $57 million deal he signed with the Rams in 2015. He was traded to the Dolphins in March 2018.
The 28-year-old reportedly visited Dallas last week, and the two front offices apparently hammered out a deal during the NFL meetings earlier this week in Arizona.
Quinn had 6 1/2 sacks for Miami last season and has 69 in his career. The 14th overall pick in the 2011 draft, Quinn is a two-time Pro Bowl selection and was a first-team All-Pro in 2013 after racking up 19 sacks for St. Louis.
