NFL trade rumors: Dolphins have discussed Ryan Tannehill deal with Redskins

Ryan Tannehill wants to finish career with Dolphins: 'I love this organization'

The Dolphins are trying to move Ryan Tannehill.

Miami has discussed the 30-year-old quarterback with several teams, including the Redskins, according to a report from the Miami Herald. The report describes the trade talks as “preliminary” with the Dolphins “calling and/or instigating the contact.”

The Dolphins may have difficulty moving Tannehill because of his cap hit, which is set to be $26.6 million in 2019, the report says.

Tannehill dealt with injuries and was inconsistent last season. He completed 64.2 percent of his passes while tallying 17 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 11 games. The Dolphins tallied a 5-6 record in his starts.

Tannehill has spent all seven of his NFL seasons with Miami.

The Dolphins finished 2018 with a 7-9 record and missed the playoffs for a second straight season. They fired Adam Gase in late December and hired Brian Flores to replace him.
