The Los Angeles Kings had a special guest in the broadcast booth when the team hosted the San Jose Sharks.
Will Ferrell stopped by ready to perform in his “Anchorman” character, Ron Burgundy. The character stepped out of his local San Diego beat to deliver hilarious commentary alongside Fox Sports broadcasters Alex Faust and Jim Fox during the second period of the game.
Burgundy called for the Kings to take a shot, even when they didn’t have the puck. He explained that the game was paused a few times because feral cats ran onto the ice. He even kissed a huge burrito while the kiss cam was watching. And what would Burgundy say if someone makes a goal? “He scores. Put that baby to bed without a diaper.”

One of the most memorable highlights came when Burgundy tested his hockey knowledge by talking about the Sharks’ lack of Stanley Cups when Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick denied Sharks forward Lukas Radil with a big save.
“Take, that San Jose!” Burgundy said on the broadcast, per NBC Sports. “Zero Stanley Cups! Zero Stanley Cups for the San Jose Sharks. They wouldn’t even know what the Stanley Cup looked like if it fell on their head.”

When Faust and Fox joked that Burgundy’s insults toward the Sharks hurt the Kings’ performance, he said: “I don’t believe in superstition. … I don’t believe in that, even though I have worn the same underwear, the same lucky underwear for every broadcast I’ve done.”
The Kings ended up defeating the Sharks, 4-2.
