Lightning reach rare milestone with win over Senators

The Lightning reached a rare milestone Monday.

Tampa Bay became the third team ever to tally 60 wins in a season. The team joins the Red Wings, who completed the feat in 1995-96, and the Canadiens (1976-77).

The Lightning beat the Senators, 5-2, to move to 60-15-4 on the season. They have just three regular-season games left.

Tampa Bay clinched the top seed in the Atlantic Division on March 18, and earned the Presidents’ Trophy, which is awarded to the NHL team that finishes with the most points in the regular season.
