NFL Draft 2019: Nick Bosa makes case to be No. 1 pick

NFL Draft 2019: Nick Bosa healthy, 'good to go' for combine, report says

Nick Bosa believes he should be the No. 1 pick.

The former Ohio State defensive end thinks the Cardinals should take him No. 1 over quarterback Kyler Murray.

“They already have a QB,” Bosa wrote in a text to ESPN. “A QB can be hit or miss. If you don’t take me I’ll be sacking Kyler Murray & if u do pick me you’ll have one of the best Dlines/(Front 7) in the NFL.”

Bosa is considered by many to be the No. 1 prospect in the 2019 draft class but reports have been rampant in recent months saying the Cardinals have zeroed in on Murray.

The reason being is because of the apparent fit between Murray and new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury, who runs a similar offense to the one at Oklahoma.

However, as Bosa said, the Cardinals already have quarterback already in Josh Rosen. Players can have success quickly in Kingsbury’s offense, so saying Murray should be taken because he’ll pick up Kingsbury’s offense doesn’t really hold water.

But, the Cardinals don’t exactly need a ton of help on the pass rush as they finished in a tie for fifth last season in the NFL with 49 sacks as a team. But, Bosa is a complete defensive end who plays the run well and Arizona gave up more rushing yards (2,479) than any team last year.

Bosa would help Arizona and he knows it. He’s just making his case and he has a good argument.

And also, if Bosa doesn’t go No. 1, he will likely go No. 2 to the 49ers and Arizona will have to face him twice a year, every year for at least five seasons. That might be a good deterrent, as well.
