The Hurricanes lost defenseman Trevor van Riemsdyk less than a minute into the team’s Game 2 matchup against the Islanders on Sunday.
Van Riemsdyk was slammed into the boards by winger Cal Clutterbuck and he fell to the ice. He skated off on his own power while clutching his shoulder, but the Hurricanes later announced that he is out for the rest of the game.
