One of the greatest mysteries in Ohio has been solved.
We now know why Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield was spotted with pro wrestling legend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin earlier this month.
Mayfield will be a featured guest on Austin’s new show “Straight Up Steve Austin,” the USA Network announced in a release Thursday.

Mayfield was seen as the passenger in a giant vehicle driven by Austin through Cleveland streets May 2. It is part of the new series, starring Austin, in which, according to a release by USA Network, he will visit with celebrities and “swap stories about their lives and careers during one-of-a-kind custom-tailored adventures in different cities across America.”
“In this unique interview format, there’s no studio, no couch and no cue cards — just a straight-up good time and some good old-fashioned American fun,” the release reads.
Other episodes of the show, which premieres Aug. 12, will feature country singer Trace Adkins, former NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr., comedian Gabriel Iglesias, WWE Superstar Becky Lynch, actor Rob Riggle and “Impractical Jokers” star Sal Vulcano.
Mayfield should have plenty of stories to share with Austin. The Browns quarterback has experienced everything from wild success on the college level, run-ins with the law and Twitter beefs with TV personalities. Now he has the hopes of a city placed on his shoulders as he leads arguably the most intriguing team in the NFL.
And though we know Austin likes his beer, he’s drinking the Mayfield Kool-Aid in Cleveland.
“To see that guy come out here and be the No. 1 pick and be the face of the franchise and light this thing on fire … football is in the air,” Austin told Browns Daily while visiting the team’s facilities. “From what I know of the guy, he’s a man’s man. And if he has your back he’s going to do anything for you. And I think that’s the thing that sets his apart. Everybody on this team knows he’s there for them.”
