NHL playoffs 2019: Bruins open as slight betting favorite over Blues in Stanley Cup Final

The Bruins are a slight favorites to defeat the Blues in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final that starts Monday in Boston, according to Las Vegas sportsbooks (via LasVegasInsider.com).

The Eastern Conference champs opened at -160, meaning Vegas gives Boston a roughly 61 percent chance of winning the title. The Bruins, who swept the Hurricanes in the East final, opened at -150 before the Blues ousted the Sharks in Game 6 of the West final Tuesday in St. Louis.

The Blues, who opened at +140 after advancing, are trying to win the first Stanley Cup in franchise history, stretching back to 1967-68, and are appearing in the final for the first time since being swept by, yes, the Bruins in 1970.

But a little perspective: Per BetChicago‘s Joe Rodgers, the Blues were 300/1 long shots at William Hill in January to win the Stanley Cup.

Now? They’re four wins from lifting the cup for the first time.

Game 1 Monday is at 8 p.m. ET (NBC), with Game 2 set for Wednesday at 8 p.m. (NBCSN). The series then shifts to St. Louis.
