Kawhi Leonard’s camp has a strong message for the NBA teams he’s meeting with as a free agent: Don’t leak anything that goes on in those meetings.
Leonard, who is an unrestricted free agent, has teams clamoring for him, especially after his performance in leading the Raptors to their first title.
While many NBA stars had intense media scrutiny with reports emerging hourly of their every move, Leonard is taking a different approach, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
“Teams have simply been told this, ‘If information on your presentation gets out, you’re really imperiling your chance to sign Kawhi Leonard.’ And so you understand why teams are keeping this so private. And his camp has not allowed that information to really get out,” Wojnarowski said on “Get Up!” Wednesday morning.
“I was told to not to expect a decision until at least later (Wednesday), possibly (Thursday) on July 4th.”
So far everything about Leonard’s free agency has been kept under wraps. The Lakers reportedly are optimistic because of the recruiting efforts by LeBron James and Magic Johnson. Leonard also was seen Wednesday after touching down in Toronto, although there is no indication why he is in the city.

Leonard, 28, averaged 30.5 points in the playoffs, was named the Finals MVP and helped the Raptors avoid elimination by knocking down a crazy bouncing buzzer-beater in the fourth quarter of Game 7 against the 76ers in the second round.
