Allen Bailey is Atlanta bound.
The former Chiefs defensive end is expected to sign a two-year deal worth $10.5 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons, ESPN reported , citing an unidentified source.
The report noted Bailey’s contract will pay him $6 million this season, including $3.5 million guaranteed.
The move comes after the team lost reserve defensive tackle Michael Bennett to a broken ankle. It was also reported that safety J. J. Wilcox is out for the upcoming season after suffering a torn ACL in Monday’s first training camp practice.
Bailey, 30, was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2011 draft and had spent his entire career in Kansas City. He is coming off one of his most productive seasons after registering six sacks, 38 tackles, two forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 2018.
He had 19.5 sacks, 207 tackles, four forced fumbles and seven recovered fumbles over eight seasons with the Chiefs.
