Winger Brandon Tanev now has some serious security after signing a six-year deal with the Penguins with an average annual value of $3.5 million, the team announced Monday.
The Pittsburgh Penguins have agreed to terms with forward Brandon Tanev on a six-year contract. The deal will run through the 2024.25 campaign and carries an average annual value of $3.5 million.

Tanev, 27, is coming off a career year with the Jets in which he had 14 goals and 15 assists. He also logged a career-high 14:07 minutes of ice time per game in 80 games. He’s known for his physical style of play as illustrated by his 278 hits and 81 blocked shots — both numbers ranked third in the NHL.
In 195 career games, he has 24 goals, 27 assists and a plus-16 rating.
