Redskins' Derrius Guice downplays hamstring injury

Derrius Guice injury update: Redskins RB (knee) has rehab setback, undergoes 3 more procedures

Derrius Guice is setting the record straight.

The Redskins running back downplayed the severity of his hamstring injury on Twitter after reports suggested he could miss training camp later this month.

“I don’t listen to the noise, I know what’s going on with me,” Guice tweeted Friday after the report broke.

When one user replied to Guice saying that a lot of people are “freaking out” over the scare, the second-year rusher replied: “For no reason.”

Guice, 22, was selected out of LSU by the Redskins in the second round of the 2018 draft but suffered a season-ending knee injury in the first quarter of Washington’s preseason opener.

The team is optimistic he’ll be healthy by the start of the regular season, even if he does end up sitting out the rest of the offseason.

The Redskins are scheduled to open camp July 25.
