John Ross could be back on the field soon.
The oft-injured Bengals wide receiver has been dealing with a hamstring injury that has kept him sidelined since the end of July. But now, coach Zac Taylor said Ross is expected to practice as early as this weekend.
“He won’t play this Thursday. Sunday would be the target for him. He’ll get a full two weeks of practice before Seattle,” Taylor said, via the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Ross has missed all of training camp and will now miss Cincinnati’s third preseason game.
He dealt with a knee injury his rookie season and played in just three games and didn’t record a reception.
Ross came back in 2018 to catch 21 passes for 210 yards
He is expected to be among quarterback Andy Dalton’s favorite targets this season, but Cincinnati’s depth chart is looking thin with an injury to fellow receiver A.J. Green.
